What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is a European Union’s program for education, training, youth and sport. It is set to last until 2020 and throughout its existence it is expected to provide an opportunity to study, train or volunteer abroad for over 4 milion Europeans as it offers opportunities to both individuals and organisations. Time spent abroad can range from few days to 12 months.
Erasmus+ aims to reduce unemployment especially amongst young people, supports innovation, encourages young people to take their part in European democracy and promotes adult learning.
In 2015 with the budget of 2.1 billion € there was 69 000 organisations taking part in Erasmus +, 678 000 people studied, trained or volunteered abroad and 19 600 projects was presented.
